2014

The structure of the Championship Gala was changed again, so that the number of the trophies between the girls and the boys was evened up. This meant the introduction of a 100m Breastroke event for girls. It was also decided to introduce a 100m Backstroke event for both the boys and the girls. In order to allow more swimmers to participate the age group was set to be for the 11 years and over for both 100m events. This also meant the existing 100m Breaststroke event for boys would also have its age group lowered to 11 years and over from 16 years and over.

At this time the rule to allow swimmers to swim up one age group was removed and each age group was re-categorized to only allow swimmers at those ages to participate. The new age groups are 8 years and under, 10 years and under, 9 to 13 years, 11 years and over, 15 years and under, 14 years and over, and the Open age group for anyone in the Club.
