Bob Whittaker (35-39) finishes 2nd in 400m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke.
26th Mark Honeyman (17.40%) and Olivia Robbins (11.92%) are the most improved swimmers since June 2005.
28th At Gala No.1 of the Central Lancashire Prelim Age Groups. Joshua Finch (15) wins 100m Butterfly. William Harrison (16) also wins 100m Butterfly.

12th At Gala No.4 of the Central Lancashire Prelim Age Groups.Joshua Finch (15) finishes third in 100m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley. Sam Bainbridge (12) is runner-up in 100m Freestyle. Emily Cott (12) is runner-up in 50m Backstroke. Matthew Lonsdale (17) is runner-up in 100m Freestyle. Emma Scott-Miller(16) is third in 50m Backstroke.
12th The combined efforts of Matthew Lonsdale, William Harrison and Emma Scott-Miller ensured that Colne ASC won the 16 years and over Competition Shield.
22nd Sam Bainbridge and Emily Cott travel to Aquatics Centre to take part in a Central Lancs Workshop which was run by Ex-British Swimmers Stephen Parry and Sarah Price.
25th At Aquabears Masters Open Meet, Tony Catterall (60-64) and John Penswick (65-69) win their respective age groups and Philip Croxall (35-39) finishes second in his age group.

2nd Colne narrowly loose out to Ramsbottom by 59 points to 57 in their first Friendly League Fixture of the Season. There were 22 personal bests set by the 'A' swimmers, and a further 21 set by the 'B' and 'C' swimmers.
11th At Lancashire County Championships, Emily Cott (12) achieves ASA North West Region Age Group Qualifying Time for 100m Backstroke.
12th At Lancashire County Championships, Sam Bainbridge (12) achieves ASA North West Region Age Group Qualifying Time for 100m Freestyle. Joshua Finch (15) achieves two ASA North West Region Youth Qualifying Times for 100m Freestyle and 200m Freestyle. Emily Cott (12) achieves ASA North West Region Age Group Qualifying Time for 100m Freestyle. William Harrison (16) achieves ASA National Youth Qualifying Time for 100m Freestyle.
18th At Lancashire County Championships, William Harrison (16) finished 1st in 50m Backstroke and 2nd in 50m Butterfly. Joshua Finch (15) finished 2nd in 50m Butterfly. Sam Bainbridge (12) finished 3rd in 50m Butterfly.
19th At Lancashire County Championships, Emily Cott (12) achieves two ASA North West Region Age Group Qualifying Times for 200m and 400m Freestyle. Joshua Finch (15) achieves ASA North West Region Youth Qualifying Time for 50m Freestyle. William Harrison (16) achieves ASA National Youth Qualifying Time for 50m Freestyle.
23rd Colne loose to Pioneer '79 by 51 points to 68 in the Friendly League. Despite the loss Colne's swimmers achieve 15 personal bests.

1st Colne(119) finish 3rd in first Micro League Fixture against teams from Chorley(148), Preston 'B'(120) and Garstang(100).
6th Colne beat Haslingden by 67 points to 50 in the latest Friendly League Fixture. The 'A' swimmers set no less than 16 personal bests between them.
8th 23 Swimmers took part in the Central Lancashire Championships at the Manchester Aquatics Centre. Colne ASC was awarded the Top Club Trophy thanks to 17 wins, 7 seconds and 8 thirds. William Harrison (16) had 8 wins, Morgan Hartley (9) had 3 wins, Emily Cott (12) 3 wins, Laura Foulkes (14) 1 win, James Blackburn (12) 1 win and a win in the 4x50m Mixed Freestyle Relay Team.

Tony Catterall (60-64) wins 800m Freestyle, 400m Individual Medley and 200m Backstroke. Bob Whittaker (35-39) finishes 3rd in 800m Freestyle in a new personal best time.

1st At North-West Region Youth Championships, Josh Finch finishes 6th in the final of the 100m Butterfly which resulted in a 3rd place in the 15/16 years age group.
7th Colne (96) finish 4th in 2nd Micro League fixture at Lancaster (153) and against teams from Clitheroe (126) and Garstang (107).
13th At Yorkshire SA Open Masters Championship in Scarborough, Philip Croxall (35-39) wins 50m and 100m Breaststroke, is 2nd in 50m Freestyle and 3rd in 100m Freestyle. Bob Whittaker (35-39) finishes 2nd in 50m and 100m Backstroke and 200m Freestyle.
15th Colne lost 66 points to 53 when they travelled to Ramsbottom in the Friendly League
16th Our eldest swimming member, Eva Hughes passed away. She was 98 and had only learnt to swim when she was 90.
19th In Micro League fixture at Clitheroe, Colne (110) finish 3rd to Chorley (154) and hosts Clitheroe (128), with Garstang trailing in 4th (88). There were several personal bests by the Colne swimmers but Chorley and Clitheroe proved to be too strong.
20th Manchester Open 2006. William Harrison (16) wins 50m & 100m Freestyle setting new meet records. He is also 2nd in 50m Butterfly and 3rd in 50m Backstroke. Joashua Finch (15) finishes 3rd in 50m Butterfly. Emily Cott (12) finished 8th at best in 50m Freestyle, but was recovering from illness. Sam Bainbridge (13) was joint 6th in his 50m Freestyle.
28th At Inter-Association Gala held at the Palatine Pool in Blackpool, Emily Cott (12) represented Central Lancashire and won the 100m Backstroke in a new personal best by 1.5 seconds. Molly Frankland (11) was down as a reserve, but was not required to swim.

3/4/10/11 ASA North West Region Age Group Championships. Emily Cott (12) finishes 5th in 100m Backstroke, she sets a new personal best in the heats. She also sets a new personal best in the 200m Freestyle. Sam Bainbridge (13) finished 19th in 100m Freestyle.
16th 2006 British Swimming Masters Championships (50m). Tony Catterall (60-64) finished 2nd in 1500m Freestyle, 200m Backstroke and 200m Butterfly. Karen Driver (35-39) finished 3rd in 1500m Freestyle. Bob Whittaker (35-39) finished 5th in 1500m Freestyle

Philip Croxall (35-39) finished 8th in 50m Freestyle setting a new personal best (27.98) and 10th in 100m Freestyle.
18th 2006 British Swimming Masters Championships (50m). Philip Croxall (15-39) finished 3rd in 100m Breaststroke and 8th in 200m Freestyle. Karen Driver (35-39) finished 4th in 400m Freestyle and 5th in 200m Freestyle. Bob Whittaker (35-39) finished 7th in 400m Freestyle and 11th in 200m Freestyle.
23rd In the Micro League Fixture held at Padiham pool, Lancaster were the dominant team as they finished on 155 points. Clitheroe edged out Rosegrove for second place with 116 points to 114, with Colne trailing in forth place on 100 points. Despite this there were 11 individual personal bests and 7 relay bests for the young Colne swimmers.

7th Colne Amateur Swimming Club nominated in three categories for the Pendle Sports Awards. Andrew Croxall has been nominated as Coach of the Year, Emily Cott has been nominated as the Rising Star and the Club has been nominated for the second time as the Club of the Year. The winners will be announced on Saturday, 5th August at the Muni in Colne.

2nd At the Swimming Times ASA National Youth Championships and ASA Championships held at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, William Harrison (17) does 54.77 in 100m Freestyle and finishes 29th out of 59 in the 17/18 years age group. Overall he was 85th out of 189.
2nd In the shadow of l'Alpe d'Huez, Rachel Ingham, Chris Wood and Chris Domoney competed in the inaugrial l'Alpe d'Huez triathlon. This involved a 1.4km swim in the lake, a cycle of 38km up the l'Alpe d'Huez followed by 9.5km run around the town of l'Alpe d'Huez. Rachel won the Female Junior category in 3hr 44min 38sec, 393rd overall. Chris Domoney was third in Male Veteran 4 category in 3hr 23min 55sec, 309th overall. Chris Wood was 8th in Male Senior 1 category in 2hr 40min 4sec, 37th overall.
5th At the Swimming Times ASA National Youth Championships and ASA Championships held at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, William Harrison (17) does 24.67, new pb, in 50m Freetyle and finishes 13th out of 77 in the 17/18 years age group. Overall he was 35th out of 168.
5th At the 2nd Annual Pendle Sports Awards, Colne ASC won the Community Club of the Year award, Andrew Croxall won the Coach of the Year award and Emily Cott was third in the Rising Star category.

September 2006

7th Colne ASC travelled to the Hyndburn Sports Centre, Accrington, to take part in their latest fixture in the Friendly League against Pioneer '79. Over the course of the night the Colne swimmers picked up a further 16 personal bests between them, but it was to be in vain as Pioneer won the races at a ratio of 3 to 1 to run out winners by 70 points to 50.
17th At the City of Sheffield Teaspoon Gala held at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre Joshua Finch (open) won 50m Butterfly and was 6th in 50m Freestyle, 8th in 50m Breaststroke and 13th in 50m Backstroke. Whilst Emily Cott (13) set new personal bests in all her swims as she won 50m Freestyle and finished 2nd in 50m Butterfly and 50m Backstroke. Josh also swam in a relay team for Haslingden, as Emily swam for Rosegrove in the relays.
18th Colne ASC travelled to Haslingden for their last fixture in the Friendly League, a rounded off the season in style in winning by 62 points to 55. It was difficult for any of the swimmers to know if they had set any new personal bests due to the Haslingden pool being only 25 yards long (about 22.86m) as opposed to 25 metres as it is at Colne Leisure Centre. This victory means that Colne avoid the relagation swim-offs against the winners of division two.
23rd At ASANER Short Course Masters Championships held at Scarborough, Bob Whittaker (35-39) wins 100m and 200m Backstroke, Tony Catterall (60-65) wins 200m Butterfly, 200m Breaststroke, 200m Backstroke and 100m Breaststroke. Stephen Smith (35-39) wins 50m and 100m Freestyle events. Philip Croxall (35-39) wins 200m Breaststroke, 2nd in 100m Breaststroke and 3rd in 100m Freestyle. John Penswick (65-69) finishes 2nd in 50m Butterfly and 100m Breaststroke.
24th On second day of ASANER Short Course Masters Championships at Scarborough, Tony Catterall (60-65) wins 200m Freestyle and 100m Individual Medley. Bob Whittaker (35-39) wins 50m Backstroke and is 3rd in 200m Freestyle. Philip Croxall (35-39) is 2nd in 200m Freestyle and 3rd in 100m Individual Medley, whilst John Penswick (65-69) is 2nd in 50m Backstroke and 50m Breaststroke. Janet Kirk (50-55) finishes 2nd in 50m Breaststroke.
29th Lancashire Sports Awards held at Ewood Park, Blackburn. Andrew Croxall received his award for the local winner from Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes. Joan Croxall collects the award for the Club from Stephen Parry. Unfortunately neither went on to win the County Award.

8th 17 swimmers competed at the Warburtons Central Lancashire Age Groups held at Bury, Gala No.1 of 3, whereby for several swimmers it was their first time competing in events and distances they had not swum before. William Harrison was the outstanding swimmer achieving four 1st places from four swims (100m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly, 100m Backstroke and 50m Breaststroke). Other successful swims included: Joshua Finch achieving two 1st places (50m Butterfly and 50m Freestyle) and a 2nd place (100m Breaststroke); Emily Cott achieved two 2nd places (50m Backstroke and 100m Freestyle); Morgan Hartley achieved a 2nd place (50m Breaststroke) and Sam Bainbridge achieved a 3rd place (50m Breaststroke).
22nd 14 swimmers competed at the Warburtons Central Lancashire Age Groups (Bury), Gala No. 2 of 3, whereby the swimmers carried on the success from the first gala with a total of 12 medals being achieved on the day. Joshua Finch and William Harrison were the outstanding swimmers achieving three 1st and one 2nd place each. Joshua won gold in the 100m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke with silver in the 50m Breaststroke. William won gold in the 100m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke with silver in the 100m Breaststroke. Other successful swims included: Emily Cott achieving a 1st (100m Backstroke) and a 3rd (50m Butterfly); Sam Bainbridge achieving a 2nd place (50m Butterfly); and a 3rd place for Morgan Hartley (50m Butterfly).
27th Karen Driver (35-39) finishes second in 1500m Freestyle event at the ASA National Masters Championships held at Pends Forge Sheffield
28th At ASA National Masters Stephen Smith (35-39) finishes 3rd in 50m Freestyle event setting best time for 15 years.
29th Stephen Smith wins Gold in the 100m Freestyle event at the ASA National Masters.

9th Nine new records were set at the Championship Gala No. 1. In the boys events William Harrison set new marks for Tony Catterall Trophy (100m Frontcrawl), Presidents Cup (50m Frontcrawl) and Corteen Cup (100m I.M.) and Sam Bainbridge set a new mark for Millennium Trophy (50m Butterfly). In the girls Ashleigh Dibb set a new mark for Dowling Shield (25m Backstroke), Emily Cott set new marks for Rita Guy Rosebowl (50m Butterfly) and Centenary Trophy (50m Backstroke), and Laura Foulkes set new marks for Presidents Cup (50m Frontcrawl) and Golden Jubilee Trophy (100m I.M.).
11th The Betty Petty Style Trophy was held with 7 girls and 6 boys taking part. The results will be announced at the Presentation on the 8th December.
12th 15 swimmers competed at the Warburtons Central Lanacshire Age Groups (Bury), Gala No. 3 of 3, whereby the swimmers carried on their success from the first gala with a total of 4 medals being achieved in the day: three 1st and one 2nd place with no fewer than 16 personal bests. Joshua Finch (15) achieved a 1st place in 200m Individual Medley; William Harrison (16+) also with 1st place in 200m Individual Medley; Sam Bainbridge (13) was 1st in 50m Freestyle; and Emily Cott (13) was 2nd in 50m Freestyle. In the Bob Foden Memorial Race which consists of teams of 14 swimmers, 7 boys and 7 girls from each of the different age group, competing in a large relay, Colne finished 5th.
16th A further eight new records were set at Championship Gala No. 2. In the boys events William Harrison sets new marks for Senior Championship (200m Freestyle), Davidson Trophy (50m Butterfly) and Claines Trophy (50m Backstroke) and Sam Bainbridge sets new marks for Seed Ford Trophy (50m Frontcrawl) and Stanworth Shield (50m Breaststroke). In the girls events Emily Cott sets a new mark for Seed Ford Trophy (50m Frontcrawl), Ashleigh Dibb sets a new mark for Wilkinson Trophy (25m Frontcrawl) and Stephanie Gill sets a new mark for Provincial Trophy (25m Butterfly).

7th At the Christmas Sprint Gala it was found that William Harrison is still the fastest swimmer in the Club over one length. The age group winners were: 7 years and under was Abbie Hampshire and Herbie Farnworth; 8 years was Ashleigh Dibb and Jonathan Beech; 9 years was Olivia Pratt and Oliver Riley; 10 years was Stephanie Gill and Morgan Hartley; 11 years was Francesca Harrison-Bradley and Jacob Kalan; 12 years was Charlotte Beech and Chris Bates; 13 years was Charlotte Durcan and Sam Bainbridge; 14 years was Rebecca Berry and Ashley Honeyman; 15 years was Simon Hardwick; and 16 years and over was Emma Scott Miller and William Harrison.
8th The winners of the Betty Petty Style Trophy were for the girls Olivia Pratt and for the boys Sam Bainbrigde. Bethany Moore and Charlotte Durcan were 2nd and 3rd in the girls, whilst Ben Fielding and Jack Coyne were 2nd and 3rd in the boys.
8th At the Annual Presentation the trophies were presented by Stanley Hendley who is the longest serving member of the Club. The first of the trophies presented were the John Dobbin Memorial Trophy to Leon Manojlovic and the Bramhill Memorial Trophy to Joshua Tones. Once all the trophies for the Championship Gala were presented the Two Alberts Trophy was presented to Chris Wood in recognition of his commitment to the team and being selected for Great Britain to take part in the World Tri-athlon Championships. The Club Captains were also named as; Senior Gents: William Harrison, Senior Ladies: Laura Foulkes, Junior Boys: William Farnworth and Junior Girls: Francesca Harrison-Bradley.
