What is the Micro League
The Micro-League is a team event for swimmers aged between 9 years and 12 years. There are four league matches throughout the year. One home and three away.
Points for all the age groups are added together. Age 9 years swim 25 metres in each individual stoke and relays. Age 10 to 12 years swim 50 metres in each stroke and 25 metres in relays. There is only one exception where 10 year olds only do 25 metres Butterfly. At the end of the gala there is a mixed freestyle cannon relay with four boys and four girls taking part, one from each age group. There are three divisions in the Micro League with swim offs to decide promotion and relegation.
We currently do not participate in this league. We intend to re-join for the 2020 season.
The Friendly League is a team event for swimmers in the age groups 9/10 years, who swim 25 metres of each stroke, 12 years and under, 14 years and under, 16 years and under and open age group, who all swim 50 metres of each stoke. There is also a 100 metre Individual Medley event for the Open age group.
There are also two medley relay events, with a mixed 13 years and under team and a mixed open age group team each comprising of two boys and two girls. At the end of the gala there is a mixed freestyle cannon relay, with 10 swimmers taking part, which comprises of one boy and girl from each age group.
There is currently only one division.
