5th The Club resumes after the Christmas break and there was water in the pool.
5th The final monies raised by the sponsored swim in October 2011 were received. This brings the final total to £1416, of which a cheque of £650 was presented to a representative of Derian House Childrens Hospice at our Annual Presentation on the 10th December 2011.
7th The history page has been updated with the Clubs meeting minutes from 1912.
16th The Friday night session on 20th January was cancelled. This was due to the early start on Saturday for the age group gala.
18th Fixtures for the 2012 Friendly League season were released.
26th The Most Improved Swimmers for January are Toby Green and Isabel Redfearn.

18th There were 24 swimmers attending the Micro League Practice Session.
19th Team Sheet for the first Micro League fixture was put on-line.
25th ASA North West Region Masters Distance Meet at Palatine Pool in Blackpool. Karen Driver (40-44) wins 1500m and 800m Freestyle events. She is also ranked first overall in the 1500 and 2nd in the 800 with age adjusted times. Philip Croxall (40-44) wins 800m Freestyle and finishes 4th in 400m Freestyle. Stephen Smith (40-44) finishes 2nd in 800m Freestyle and 3rd in 400m Freestyle. John Penswick (70-74) finishes 3rd in 150m Freestyle.
26th We finished in 2nd place with 133 points at the first Micro League fixture of the season held at the Ribblesdale Pool in Clitheroe. The winners were Wigan with 147 points with Blackpool in 3rd on 108 and hosts Clitheroe in 4th place with 88 points. During the course of the evening we won 12 events and were 2nd in a further 17 of the 49 events. There were 14 new personal bests amongst the girls and 11 amongst the boys.

8th We started the new Friendly League season with a win as we beat Accrington by 61 points to 56. During the course of the evening there were 29 new personal bests amongst the boys and 17 for the girls.
22nd We won our second fixture of the Friendly League season in a thrilling encounter with Pioneer 79 at the Pendle Leisure Centre. The contest ebbed and flowed during the course of the evening as we held out for a 59 points to 57 victory.
25th Darlington Dolphin's 21st Annual Open Masters Gala. Philip Croxall swimming in the 40 to 44 years age group finished 1st in the 50m and 100m Breaststroke, 2nd in the 50m Backstroke, 3rd in the 200m Freestyle and 100m Individual Medley, 4th in the 50m Butterfly and 100m Freestyle, and 5th in the 50m Freestyle. Stephen Smith also swimming in the 40 to 44 years age group finished 1st in the 50m Backstroke, and 2nd in the 200m Freestyle, 50m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle and 100m Individual Medley.

3rd The start time of the Micro League fixture on 29th April was changed to 1pm.
21st The talent show was a great success with young Ben Purvis body popping his way to victory. Isaac Rowan tinkled the ivories to finish second with the flute playing of Abbie Hampshire in third.
21st A day of fun and games was held at the Pendle Leisure Centre to celebrate the Clubs Centenary. The yellow team won the days activities.
25th Colne was nominated for the Mayor of Pendle's 'Volunteer Children's Group of the Year' award. The formal awards will be taking place on Monday, 14th May at Christ Church, Carr Road, Nelson.
29th Colne finished in 2nd place behind hosts Preston in our second fixture of the Micro League Season. Preston B won with 149 points, Colne 2nd on 140 points, Carnforth B were 3rd with 103 points and Blackpool C were 4th with 77 points.

4th British Gas Masters and Senior Age Group Championships at Ponds Forge ISC, Sheffield. Karen Driver (40-44) wins the 1500m Freestyle in a long course personal best time. Philip Croxall (40-44) finishes 5th in 100m Breaststroke. Stephen Smith (40-44) finishes 7th in 100m Freestyle.
5th Day two of British Masters Championships. Karen Driver (40-44) wins 400m Freestyle and is 3rd in 200m Freestyle. Stephen Smith (40-44) finishes 2nd in 100m Butterfly and 4th in 50m Freestyle. Philip Croxall (40-44) finishes 3rd in 200m Breaststroke, 4th in 400m Freestyle and 5th in 50m Freestyle.
6th Day three of British Masters Championships. Karen Driver (40-44) wins 800m Freestyle. Philip Croxall (40-44) finishes 3rd in 200m Individual Medley and 4th in 50m Breaststroke.
14th At the Mayor of Pendle's Commmunity Volunteer Awards held at Christ Church, Nelson. Colne were nominated in the Voluntary Children's Group of the Year. Unfortunately we did not win as the winners were the West Craven Youth Action Group.
14th In our third fixture of the Friendly League Season, we travelled to the Hyndburn Sports Centre, Accrington. We proved too strong for Accrington as we won by 66 points to 53 to maintain our 100% record. During the course of the evening there were 7 new personal bests amongst the girls and 9 amongst the boys.
15th It is with great sadness to report that Glenda, the wife of Club Chairman Martin Jackson, passed away on Tuesday. The family ask for any donations to be sent to Pendleside Hospice.
22nd Congratulations to David Havers-Strong and Chris Bates on passing their Level 1 Swimming Teachers.
24th We made it four wins out of four in our latest fixture in the Friendly League. In what proved to be a one sided contest we beat Todmorden by 76 points to 34 winning 36 of the 40 races. During the course of the evening the Colne girls set a further 25 new personal bests amongst whilst there were 13 amongst the boys.

16th Colne finished in 3rd place as were hosts for third fixture of the Micro League Season. Leyland B won with 129 points, Wigan 2nd on 121 points, Colne 3rd on 102 points and Preston B were 4th with 101 points.
16th World Masters Championships in Riccione, Italy. Karen Driver (40-44) finishes 6th out of 55 in 400m Freestyle in new personal best time of 4:59.06.
25th Lucy Cowgill brought her Olympic Torch to the Club session. Photos were taken with Club members, which will displayed on the website.
28th The Most Improved Swimmers for June are William Havers-Strong and Ella Rogers.
30th 2012 ASA North West Region Masters Championships. Tony Catterall (65-69) wins 100m Individual Medley, 50m Backstroke and 100m Backstroke. He is 2nd in 400m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke, 200m Freestyle and 50m Freestyle. Philip Croxall (40-44) wins 400m Freestyle and 200m Breaststroke. He is 2nd in 100m Freestyle, 200m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley, and is 4th in 100m Breaststroke.

2nd Colne travelled to Todmorden in our latest fixture in the Friendly League Season. It proved to be a one sided contest as Colne beat our hosts Todmorden by 73 points to 47. This has now made it five wins out of five.
5th William Havers-Strong and Ella Rogers were presented with their Most Improved Swimmer Trophies by Club Secretary Joan Croxall.
8th At the Palatine Leisure Centre in Blackpool we had our final fixture against teams from Blackpool, Clitheroe and Leyland. The young Colne swimmers put in a fantastic effort to finish with 149 points to winners Leyland B on 158 points. Clitheroe B finished on 87 points in third with Blackpool C finishing on 84 points.

4th Friendly League fixture on Friday, 7th September has been cancelled. New date is Friday, 14th September at the Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School. Warm-up 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start.
8th At the Pendle Sports Awards held at the ACE Centre in Nelson, the Club finished in 3rd place in the Community Club of the Year Award. Whilst Club Coach Andrew Croxall was given a Special Recognition Award in the Coach of the Year category.
14th Colne travelled to the Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, Blackburn to take on Pioneer 79 in the last fixture of the 2012 Friendly League season. The contest went right down to the last race as we emerged victors by 60 points to 59, which meant that we finished with a 100% record in our Centenary year. During the course of the evening there were a further 13 new personal bests for the girls and 13 for the boys.

19th Both the Friday night and Sunday morning sessions were cancelled due to the Rotherham Metro Short Course Level 3 Meet.
22nd 7 swimmers from Colne ASC took part in the Rotherham Metro A/B Grade Meet at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield. Between them they managed 29 new personal bests out of 41 swims.

She had 1 ‘A’ Silver in 50m Butterfly and 1 ‘A’ Bronze in 100m Individual Medley. She did 5 swims and all were new personal bests.
Danielle Baxter (10yr)
She had 2 ‘B’ Silvers in 100m Individual Medley and 50m Backstroke. She did 4 swims and all were new personal bests.
Lucy Green (12yr)
She had 6 swims of which 3 were new personal bests.
Miranda Bower (12yr)
She had 1 ‘B’ Silver in 50m Butterfly. She did 7 swims of which 5 were in new personal best times.
Nicole Baxter (12yr)
She had 1 ‘B’ Gold in 100m Freestyle, 1 ‘B’ Silver in 50m Backstroke and 1 ‘B’ Bronze in 50m Breaststroke. In total she did 9 swims, of which 4 were new personal bests.
Jonah Thomas-Kelly (10yr)
He had 1 ‘B’ Silver in 50m Freestyle. He did 4 swims and all were new personal bests.
Gregan Baker (12yr)
He had 6 swims in total with 4 of them in new personal best times.
29th North East Region Masters Championships at the Neptune Centre, Middlesbrough.
Philip Croxall (40-44) wins 200m Individual Medley, 100m Backstroke, 100m Breaststroke, 200m Freestyle and 200m Breaststroke. He also finishes 2nd in 100m Butterfly and 100m Freestyle.
Bob Whittaker (40-44) wins 200m Backstroke and 50m Backstroke. He is 2nd in 50m Breaststroke, 100m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke and 100m Individual Medley, 3rd in 200m Individual Medley and 50m Butterfly, 4th in 100m Freestyle, and 5th in 50m Freestyle and 200m Freestyle.
Philip Walker (18-24) who trains at Colne but swam for Sedgefield wins 200m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke, 50m Backstroke and 100m Individual Medley. He is 2nd in 50m Breaststroke, 200m Butterfly and 50m Butterfly.

2nd As of Friday, 5th October 2012.

Due to the changing of the session times at the Pendle Leisure Centre, the Friday evening Training Group session has been moved half an hour earlier. The session now starts at 7:00pm and lasts until 8:30pm. This session is open to all our Micro League and Friendly League swimmers.
17th David Havers-Strong was elected as the Clubs new Chairman at the Annual General Meeting. The outgoing Chairman Martin Jackson was stepping down after 9 years in the position.
There is also a change in the position of Trophy Secretary with Andrea Hartley stepping down after the Annual Presentation, she will then be replaced by Janice Smith-Shelley. Janice also joined the committee along with Lesley Lahey.
The Team Manager for 2013 will be Richard Baxter.
17th The Championship Gala was changed to incorporate a 200m Individual Medley event that is open to all swimmers. The 16 years and over 100m Individual Medley was replaced to accommodate this change.
25th Both the Friday night and Sunday morning sessions were cancelled due to the Blackpool Meet.

27th ASA National Masters. Karen Driver (40-44) wins the 400m Freestyle. Philip Croxall (40-44) finishes 6th in 200m Breaststroke and 16th in 50m Freestyle. Stephen Smith (40-44) finishes 7th in 50m Freestyle and 8th in the 100m Freestyle.
27th North Lancs Level 3 Meet. Palatine Pool, Blackpool. Miranda Bower (12yr) wins 50m Freestyle and is 2nd in 200m Freestyle. Danielle Baxter (10yr) is 3rd in 100m Individual Medley. Ben Havers-Strong (9yr) is given speeding tickets for being too fast in the 50m Backstroke and Freestyle events.
28th ASA National Masters. Karen Driver (40-44) wins 800m Freestyle and is 5th in the 200m Freestyle. Philip Croxall (40-44) finishes 4th in 100m Breaststroke and 12th in 100m Individual Medley.

12th Championship Gala Part One. There were no new records broken on Monday night. In the new 200m Individual Medley events Morgan Hartley and Nicole Baxter establish the times to beat in future years. Ashleigh Dibb and Jasmin Lahey were the most successful as they both won three trophies on the night. Alex Berry, Jacob Taylforth and Nicole Baxter each won two trophies, with the remaining 11 trophies being won by Abigail Harrison, Ben Wilson, Emma Wilkinson, Gregan Baker, Isaac Rowan, Jack Nevison, Jonah Thomas-Kelly, Lewis McKenna, Mia Dodman, Morgan Hartley and Philip Croxall.
15th Championship Gala Part Two. Jasmin Lahey broke the record in the Girls Provincial Trophy for 10 years and under 25m Butterfly from 2008 with a time of 17.28 seconds. Alex Berry and Stephanie Brooks were the most successful as they both won three trophies on the night. Nicole Baxter won two trophies and the remaining 14 trophies being won by Ashleigh Dibb, Ben Wilson, Daniel Grant, Danielle Baxter, George Connolly, Georgia Taylforth, Isaac Rowan, Jacob Taylforth, James Barker, Jasmin Lahey, Jonah Thomas Kelly, Miranda Bower, Olivia Taylor and William Havers-Strong.
16th Friendly League Swim-Off at Pendle Leisure Centre. Colne edged out Ramsbottom in a thrilling contest to win the swim-off by 110 points to 107. Pioneer pushed both teams to finish 3rd with 98 points with Haslingden 4th on 82 points. The Colne swimmers managed 23 new personal bests with 11 for the girls and 12 for the boys. Colne and Ramsbottom will be in Division One and Pioneer and Haslingden in Division Two for 2013.
17th Betty Petty Style Trophy. There were 6 boys and 7 girls who took part in the Betty Petty trophy and were assessed by Peter Wiseman. The winners will be announced at the Presentation on Saturday, 8th December.
27th Karen Driver was nominated for the Lancashire Telegraph's Grass Roots Heroes Awards. The awards take place at the Mytton Fold Hotel, Langho on Thursday, 6th December.

6th Lucy Cowgill was presented the Two Alberts Trophy for Services to the Club at the Christmas Sprint Gala. It was recognition for her work with the Centenary Celebrations as well as being available to help whether at Galas or Car Boots. Also she carried the Olympic Torch on it's journey up Manchester Road in Burnley as part of the Olympic Torch Relay.
6th Christmas Sprint Gala. Jasmin Lahey (9) set three new records for Backstroke, Butterfly and Frontcrawl. Nicole Baxter (13) sets a new record for the Butterfly. Jacob Talyforth (9) sets three records for the Breaststroke, Butterfly and Frontcrawl. William Havers-Strong (7) sets a new record for the Butterfly.
8th The trophies for the Championship Gala and Sprint Gala were presented by Club President Mick Charldwood.
The John Dobbin Memorial Trophy for Courage was awarded to Aidan Dibb. The Bramhill Memorial Trophy for Achievement was awarded to Maisie Rebanks.
The Betty Petty Style Trophy winners were Ben Havers-Strong and Jasmin Lahey.
The 'Spot-On' winner was announced as Morgan Hartley with Abigail Harrison in second and Danielle Baxter in third.
8th The Club Captains for 2012 were announced as Alex Berry and Ashleigh Dibb. The Junior Captains for 2012 are Lewis McKenna and Molly Stevens.
26th Club Coach Andrew Croxall became father to a little girl Adison Mary Faith who was born at 8:45am weighing 9lb 3oz.
