19th | We were hosts to teams from Wigan, Blackpool and Liverpool for our first Micro League fixture of the season. In what was an exciting competition we finished 3rd with 107 points. The winners on the night were Liverpool with 159 points, with Wigan second on 132 points and Blackpool in 4th place on 60 points. During the course of the night there were 6 new personal bests for the girls and 5 for the boys. |

3rd | With the changing of the opening hours to Pendle Leisure Centre the Sunday afternoon training session was changed to Sunday morning, 9:00am whilst 10:30am. This session is open to all Micro and Friendly League swimmers. |
4th | We travelled the short distance down the M65 to take on Accrington in our latest fixture in the North East Lancs Friendly League. The hosts got off to a positive start by winning 12 of the opening 16 races, but after that Colne started to chip away at Accrington’s lead. It was to prove in vain as Accrington held out for victory by 62 points to 52. Despite this there were a further five new personal bests amongst the girls and five amongst the boys. |

Hosts Carnforth finished in 3rd place with 110 points whilst Clitheroe trailled in 4th place with 82 points. During the course of the gala the Colne swimmers amassed 7 new personal bests for the girls and 8 for the boys. |
14th | The Yorkshire Open Masters Championships held at the North Bay Indoor Pool in Scarborough. Steve Smith (40-44) wins 100m Freestyle and 100m Individual Medley, is 2nd in 200m Individual Medley and 50m Freestyle. Karen Driver (40-44) wins 200m Individual Medley and 200m Freestyle, is 2nd in 50m Breaststroke and 100m Breaststroke, and is 4th in 100m Freestyle and 100m Individual Medley. 15th | We travelled to the Palatine Pool in Blackpool for our third fixture in the Micro League of the North West. Swimming against teams from Blackpool, Preston and Leyland. The young Colne swimmers managed to win 9 of the races during the course of the gala to finish 3rd with 105 points. The hosts Blackpool finished 4th with 75 points, which left Preston and Leyland to battle it out for first place. In the end there were only 5 points separating the two teams as Preston finished first on 148 points and Leyland with 143 points. During the course of the gala we managed a further 7 new personal bests with 3 amongst the girls and the other 4 amongst the boys. |

We finished in third place on 90 points just ahead of Carnforth who had 80 points. |

Over the course of the evening there were a further 21 new personal bests for the Colne swimmers, with 10 for the boys and 11 for the girls. That results leaves us in third place in the Division 2, thus missing out on the Swim-Offs for promotion to Division 1. |
25th | The ASA North East Region Masters Championships 2011 held at the Freeman’s Quay Leisure Centre in Durham. Three members of the Masters Team were swimming in the 40 to 44 years age group and between them they won 12 golds and 8 silvers. Karen Driver finished first in the 400m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 200m Individual Medley, 50m Freestyle, 200m Freestyle, 100m Individual Medley and 50m Butterfly. She also finished second in the 50m Breaststroke and 100m Breaststroke. Stephen Smith finished first in the 50m Freestyle and 200m Freestyle. He also finished second in the 100m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly. Philip Croxall finished first in the 400m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke and 200m Breaststroke. 28th | ASA National Masters and Senior Age Group Championships (25m) 2011. Karen Driver (40-44) wins 1500m Freestyle in a time of 19:05.34 which improved her personal best by over six seconds. Philip Croxall (40-44) finished in 10th place in the 100m Breaststroke in a time of 1:17.18. |
29th | ASA National Masters and Senior Age Group Championships (25m) 2011. Karen Driver (40-44) finishes second in the 800m Freestyle to claim the silver in a time of 9:59.40, which was another personal best and the first time under 10 minutes for that distance. This was followed by a determined effort to snatch bronze by 0.01 of a second in the 200m Freestyle in a time of 2:22.11, which was her best time for the year. Stephen Smith (40-44) finished in sixth in the 100m Freestyle in a time of 56.64 which was a seasons best. Philip Croxall (40-44) finished in 12th place in the 100m Freestyle in a time of 1:00.13. A seventh place in the 200m Breaststroke in a time of 2:48.89, which his best time he had done for four years. This was followed by a new personal best and fifth place finish in the 200m Freestyle in a time of 2:13.10. |

Karen Driver (40-44) claimed another bronze this time in the 400m Freestyle with a time of 4:53.37, which was another new personal best. Philip Croxall (40-44) finished in sixth place in the 400m Freestyle with a time of 4:44.48 and in 13th place in the 50m Breaststroke with a time of 34.73 which was again his best time over the last four years. 19th | Tony Catterall, Karen Driver and Philip Croxall represented Lancashire in the Inter-County Masters held at the John Charles Centre for Sport, Leeds. Cheshire just edged out Yorkshire by a point on the day, with Northumberland & Durham in third just ahead on Lancashire, with Cumbria trailing in fifth place. The full results will not be know until all the results are collated from the various Inter-County meets held around the country this weekend. |
21st | The Monday night session was held at Wavelengths in a shared session with Nelson SC. |
22nd | Progress was made at the pool as the engineers isolated where the leak actually is, the next step is to facilitate the repair. The Christmas Sprint Gala was postponed a week to Thursday, 8th December. |
26th | The Championship Gala took place at West Craven Sports Centre. During the course of the gala there were two records broken by Jacob Taylforth in the 8 and under breastroke and backstroke events. |
29th | A hole has been dug on the pool side to fix the leak. The engineers are digging a bit further to fully check the system. They will be doing further pressure tests and we will know by the end of the week as to when the pool will realistically open. A decision as to whether the Sprint Gala will be happening will be taken then. |

1st | There is now a large whole in the poolside as the engineers fix the leak and repair the middle inlet which was blocked off in February. Once repaired and the hole filled in, it will take four days to fill the pool as the water needs heating and treating. |
2nd | The Christmas Sprint Gala was cancelled as the pool will not be open in time. |
5th | There is still no idea on when the pool will be open. Currently there is a large hole with a missing bit in the pipework. Once the pipe has been repaired the system will need to be tested for 24 hours and after that it will take 3 to 4 days to fill the pool. Opening on Monday, 12th December is looking very doubtful. |
7th | The pipe has now been repaired and is undergoing pressure tests, once successful the hole will be filled and the pool re-filled. This process will take several days. The staff at the Pendle Leisure Centre intend to open to public on Wednesday, 14th December providing everything has gone alright. |
10th | At our Annual Presentation the trophies were presented to the trophy winners, plus some extra awards were made. A cheque of £650 was presented to Derian House Childrens Hospice. The Betty Petty winners were Gregan Baker and Nicole Baxter.Former Teacher Chris Domoney was presented the Two Alberts Award for Services to the Club and IronMan efforts. The John Dobbin Memorial Trophy went to Anna Rogers. The Bramhill Memorial Trophy went to Toby Green. The Club Captains for 2012 will be Alex Berry and Laura Foulkes with the Junior Captains being George Connolly and Abbie Hampshire. |

The age group winners were for the girls; Jasmin Lahey (8 years), Danielle Baxter (9), Molly Stevens (10), Miranda Bower (11), Nicole Baxter (12) and Katie Farrar (14).
